The first edition of Lund Model United Nations was organised in November 2007. 43 selected delegates from 28 different countries comprised a competent Security Council which debated the situation in Burma/Myanmar.

Lund Model United Nations became an independent organisation in the early spring of 2008. Earlier it had been a part of the Lund Association of Foreign Affairs.

 

Mission Statement

•  To spread the gains of Model United Nations, MUN, in educating young passionate internationals in politics, negotiations and cultural understanding.
• To create the necessary conditions for, and on a regular base arrange a Model United Nations in Lund, which turns to students on university level locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
• To thereby spread information about the United Nations, its founding ideal and values, but also to encourage a critical debate and offer a more complex picture of the United Nations as an organisation and arena for international politics.
