Autumn at last. Rainy season but also LUMUN season. Yet still there are no signs of any grand venues or advertisement campaigns, or anything of the usual nature, coming from the president’s office at Lumun headquarters. What has happened to the board? Have they lost their control? Will there be no more model UN in Lund?…

Resolution accepted

After an outdrawn and grueling voting process, the draft resolution 1.4 was finally voted through. The success of the Security Council in coming to an agreement seemed to hang in the balance when both Russia and the US initially did not vote in favour of the resolution, but in the end it was accepted. The full text of the resolution will soon be available on the blog.

Russia angered

Russia delivered an angered speech following a discussion in the Security Council on their intervention in the Georgian conflict.

The russian delegate raised concerns over what they considered hypocrisy on the side of the US delegation and referred to the violation of international law that the invasion of Iraq constituted.
